What is God's will for us?
What is God's will for us?
* Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 * It is God’s will that you should be sanctified. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 * For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men. 1 Peter 2:15 * Those who suffer according to God's will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good. 1 Peter 4:19 * It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. 1 Peter 3:17 * Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2 We often wonder what God's will is in our lives. We believe waiting passively for His will is what is expected of us -forgetting that we have an active role doing God's will. We kind of 'throw the ball in His court' expecting God to work out His will. From the above Scriptures we can clearly understand 'the ball is very much in our court'. The list we need to actively work on to make sure God's will is done in our lives includes but not limited to: Giving thanks, being sanctified, doing good, committing ourselves to our faithful Creator, not conforming to the pattern of this world, being transformed by the renewing of our mind, etc. Then we will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will - for our lives...
