We're Better Off Being Here

When we're all introduced to the idea of being in recovery or we're entertaining the possibility for ourselves of joining recovery we'll all immediately start to think that we have to give up so much, or that something is going be taking from us so that we can be in recovery, when in reality we are the ones that for some reason, who are being offered something far better that what most people will ever be able to have. None of us know this at this time, but we're all far better off being here in recovery more than any of us could have ever imagined we would be. What's really obvious for all of us, but what none of us can see, is what we all think that's being taken from us and what we all have to give up hasn't been working for any of us for a long time now, and we've all proved that it doesn't work. Yet all of us want to hang on to the idea that some day it will work, it never does. What does work for all of us that we can only find out by trying is recovery, and once we do, we all find that better things in life will be ours, and what all of us didn't want to be taken from us, we'll all be glad that it's gone all of it, because by now we'll know then that it's far better for all of us to be here in recovery, than it is for any of us to be anywhere else.
