Default Make Allowances

MAKE ALLOWANCES

So many times we are too quick to judge. We don’t take time to stop and think about why others act the way they do. We are too quick to get angry or upset about what others do. However, God wants us to stop and think about the situation and the person. God want us to remember that no one is perfect. Not even us. God wants us to remember and learn to make allowances for each other’s faults and to forgive them just as He has forgiven us.

SCRIPTURE: Colossians 3:13 “Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. List some people you need to forgive.
2. Write down how God has forgiven you.
3. Pray and thank God for His forgiveness.
4. Go and forgive others just as God has forgiven you.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, we do want to remember today to make allowances for each other’s faults. We all have our issues and problems. We all have our troubles and faults. Not one of us is perfect but sometimes we act as if we do no wrong. Remind us today that we all have sinned and we are truly blessed that You forgive. Help us to make allowances for each other’s faults today and forgive just as You have forgiven us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
God wants us to forgive others just as He has forgiven us.

Everyone has something about them that we can choose to get upset about or we can choose to forgive.

God wants us to show patience and love. We can’t do that if we are blaming and holding grudges.

Thank God for His example of forgiveness and how we, too, can forgive others.

When we make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive, we are showing them God’s love.

FOCUS: Ephesians 4:2 “Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.” (NLT)

God is patient with us and our faults so we are to be patient with the faults of others.
