Default Remember To Rest

REMEMBER TO REST

The first quarter of the year is over. Spring is here. We have either started our plans for the year or we have put them off for whatever reason. Whatever we plan for the year, we need to remember to take time to rest our minds, bodies and spirits. God thought it was important enough to put in His word as something we should do. Let’s take time to refresh each week so we can have a prosperous year.

SCRIPTURE: Exodus 34:21 “You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but on the seventh day you must stop working, even during the seasons of plowing and harvest.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write what you do during the week.
2. List how you take a day off and rest.
3. Know God wants you to take a day off.
4. Spend time resting and worshiping God weekly as He commands.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we know we sometimes take rest for granted. We think we can keep going and going without getting the proper sleep. We believe we don’t need a day to refresh or renew because there is so much to do. Help us to remember today You command us to rest. You want us to take a day off each week. You want us to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. Help us to do so. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
We are to take a day off each week as God commanded us and remember it is to rest and worship God.

Exodus 31:15a “You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day must be a Sabbath day of complete rest, a holy day dedicated to the LORD.” (NLT)

If we want to be blessed and succeed in life, we need to remember to take a day off each week.

Genesis 2:3 “And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.” (NLT)

God created the seventh day as a day of rest for His people. It was not created for us to get an extra day of work completed.

FOCUS: Mark 2:27 “Then Jesus said to them, ‘The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath.’” (NLT)

We stay sober and clean together - one day at a time!
God says that each of us is worth loving.
