"If instead of trusting in God, I trust only my own intelligence, my own strength and my own prudence, I will not find my way to Him and His help. He has offered me the gift of faith. In accepting it, I must put aside my own human will and trust in Him."

This sounds like Step Three is the answer. I need to make a decision to turn my will and my life over to the Care of the God of my understanding. How can I understand God if I dictate and tell Him what to do. We want to be understood and cared for and we turn our focus onto others, forgetting to do the same for ourselves.
