Unchanging God
Unchanging God
Read Numbers 22:1 through 23:30 Even though life’s troubles may threaten to overwhelm us at times, understanding the perfect divine character of God brings comfort and assurance to our hearts. It is most encouraging to know God is faithful to keep His promises. Unlike sinful human beings, God is not erratic nor unreliable, but He is faithful to keep all the promises He has made in His Word. “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” (Numbers 23:19). The apostle Paul, in writing to Titus, confirmed that God cannot lie (Titus 1:1–3). Jesus, in speaking of Himself, declared, “I am the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6). We know that God is truth, for not only His Holy Word, but His actions also, emphasize this fact again and again. People’s moods may be as changeable as the weather, but God is unchangeable and totally dependable. Our sovereign God is constant and always faithful to Himself and to His people. We can depend on Him! Prayer Suggestion: Pray for the consistent faith and trust in God that you need to consistently obey Him. Quicklook:Numbers 23:13–26 God's Word For Today
