Blessed Forgetfulness

Was thinking it said, "Forgiveness." To find forgetfulness, I generally had to drown or stuff the thoughts. In other words, completely sloshed or stoned out of my mine. How many times I heard,"I will forgive but I will never forget." I found it easier to forgive the person, even if I couldn't forgive the action."

I had to give myself healing time and lots of prayer. It wasn't for the other person, but for my own serenity. As long as I didn't forget, I was keeping it attached with apron strings, and I could real it in whenever I got into a pity party.

As the promises say, "We will not regret the past or shut the door on it," we can learn from it and move on. Leave it in the past and live in today instead of continuing looking over my shoulder and bringing it along behind me. It is such a heavy burden. God offers us freedom, yet unless I let go of the ball and chain, it won't go away.
