It has been many years since I was able to go on a vacation. A friend called me to ask when I was celebrating my anniversary. I told him that I was going to Ottawa, the government was paying my way, plus giving me $70. to escort a friend who was going into treatment. She was not able to travel on her own. He called his sister, she picked me up and drove me to her cottage to meet up with my friend. I had 10 day in a mid 1800 log cabin, with carpets, dish washer, lots of original wood sanded and made new. They had 180 acres with 500 feet water front on a lake. It was awesome and I did not have to cook, made a potato salad because I wanted to. It was the first time I had been on a holiday for about 30 years.

It was a nice memory, and my life is one big holiday according to some.
