Path To Peace by Seek Ye First the Kingdom

One of the things I look for in scripture is the answer to the question. What am I supposed to be doing? We know that through Jesus we are saved, but then what do we do?

I have found that Philippians 4:4-8 is a great scripture to answer this question.

Paul writes, “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

My simple summary is “Be Happy, Be Nice, Don’t Worry, Pray, Ask for what you want, Be grateful for what you get, Focus on the Good.”

Dear Lord, you give us the path to peace even while here on earth. Help us follow Paul’s guidance that leads us to your “peace that exceeds anything we can understand.” In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
