Look For
So many people look at the person, the scholar, the teacher and forget to look at the spiritual principles behind their existence.
Everyone is entitled to their beliefs. Yet so many of them have a convenient 'god' and worship the person instead of living a life that would allow this same person to call them friend. I am religiously spiritual. I just try to keep an open mind to other people's beliefs. I never lost my religious beliefs, I enlarged them to embrace and include others. Look for the goodness. All things are not positive or negative. If we are honest with ourselves, and work the 12 Steps of AA, then we can see ourselves as we truly are. Not as we would have others perceive us, or how we perceive what others think of us, and not how we put on the masks, to cover up the person we feel we are, who isn`t feeling loved and doesn`t feel like they are lovable. My first 4th Step was all negative and my sponsor said, `Go back now and balance it by adding the positive.` They were very hard to recognize. Often then were covered up by black clouds and hidden away, as a result of guilt and shame.
