The Source
Shortly after we start our recovery we'll get this new confidence that we'd never go back, to where it is that we came from no matter what. Unfortunately the reality for us is we can always go back, we're not cured even though it feels like we have been. This is where it can get confusing. By having this new confidence we'll sometimes start to think that we're the one's keeping ourselves sober. We need to always remember that it's because we're following a program of recovery. That's the source of our new confidence, that's where it's coming from, it's not from us. As long as we keep following the program we'll always have this confidence, but as soon as we stop following the program that confidence does go away and we'll find ourselves back there, once again.
