FOLLOW

In order to focus on doing anything well, we sometimes look at what others have done in the past that is similar to what we are trying to do. We sometimes follow their example or model what they did that worked well so we don’t have to reinvent the wheel. When we focus on following in their footsteps, we learn faster, we have a better success rate and we are able to not waste time by trial and error. If we want to have a good life, we need to follow Jesus. We need to focus on Him and model what He has done. And we can find out how to follow Him from God’s word.

John 12:26 “Anyone who wants to be my disciple must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us to be followers of Jesus. Help us to allow Him to be our role model. Help us to learn more about Him and do as He did while on earth. We can learn so much from following Jesus and serving You. We can be who You want us to be when we follow the steps of Jesus. Show us the path to take today, Lord, where we are doing Your will and obedient to You in all things. Help us today to trust You as Jesus did in everything we do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we follow Jesus and live by His example, we will have the desire to do God’s will.

When we follow the example of Jesus, we will learn to focus on God as Jesus did.

When we follow Jesus, we can give God all our troubles and allow Him to give us peace.

When we follow the footsteps of Jesus, God will direct our paths.

When we follow Jesus, our attitudes will be changed and our lives will be changed.

Philippians 2:5 “You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.” (NLT)

Focus today: Following Jesus requires we take our focus off us and the world and put our focus on Him.
