MEDITATION

When we sit and think about God’s will or go over a verse in our minds so we can remember it and store it for future use, we are preparing ourselves for issues later down the road. Meditating on God’s word is so important. It not only makes us wiser and more knowledgeable, but it gives us new insight about our problems. It provides us with answers to our situations and how we can help others. God tells us to keep His word in our hearts and ready on our lips so we are prepared for anything.

SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 22:18 “For it is good to keep these sayings in your heart and always ready on your lips.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. List the Scriptures you know by heart.
2. Write down what other areas of God’s word you need.
3. Ask God to help you read and remember His word.
4. Remember the importance of reading His word and applying it to your life.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, we thank You for your word. We are so grateful we have Your word to go to, to read, to meditate on and to apply to our lives. Show us how to take meditation to a new level. We want to make it a daily part of our lives and go deeper into Your word seeking the meaning of every verse. We want to have Your word ready on our lips to help us and others get through anything in life. Show us Your way, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
God’s word is alive and real and true. His word is able to help us in all things.

Meditating on God’s word is the best meditation we could ever do.

God’s word was meant for us to read, study, learn and apply. Meditation helps us to do all these things.

God wants us to seek His word and allow it to sink into our hearts and minds so we can become more like Him.

Every day we are to take the sword of the Spirit which is God’s word with us out into the world so we are ready for anything.

FOCUS: Ephesians 6:17 “Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” (NLT)

When we take time to meditate on God’s word, we will be preparing ourselves for any battle this world can bring.
