Default God still protects and blesses

Your Daily Inspiration

I have always enjoyed reading and studying about Joseph because his story is so similar to all of our own life experiences. It is the ultimate tale of overcoming and preserving despite life’s many setbacks and it always feeds my soul.

Stuff happens in all of our lives. Good and bad. People who we thought loved us may end up hurting or abandoning us or we may find ourselves in situations that are so horrible and unexpected that we see no way out. Everything and everyone is against us and we have gone from bad to worse in an instant.

But praise God from whom all blessings flow, because when He is involved it no longer matters what happened in our lives seeking to destroy or cause our downfall. The God we serve will pick us back up and position us better off than we were before and his story beautifully illustrates that point. Friends, when God’s hand is upon you it doesn’t matter what comes against you will still be blessed.

Hallelujah!!

That is why Joseph’s story always uplifts me because he went through so many setbacks in life. He was hated, sold and abandoned by his brothers; he was lied on and thrown into jail; he helped people in jail and asked them to remember him once they got out and they forgot him (read Genesis chapters 37, 39 and 40), however, despite these bad breaks he did not become bitter nor did he allow those moments define him or end his story. He just kept encouraging himself where he was because he understood that what the enemy meant for evil God would use it for his good (Romans 8:28).

Most of us, myself included, probably would have given up, lost all hope and became bitter after one bad break, but not Joseph. Even in his darkest hours he never forgot who he served. He just kept right on keeping on by continuing to do the work of God wherever he was positioned and the favor of God was upon him causing him to prosper everywhere he was.

I just love that despite the many bad breaks that Joseph had in his life he never lost hope. He just continued to persevere in the face of those heartbreaks, trials and tribulations and the more I read and study the more I am encouraged when I am going through my own.

Despite life’s various struggles and setbacks, God still protects and blesses. The same God that was with Joseph surrounding him with His favor when he was in the pit, prison, and palace is still doing that today. He hasn’t changed.

Let Joseph’s story settle into your spirit today and rise up from whatever bad break you are facing right now filled full of encouragement because the God we serve will bring us out better than we ever were before. You can count on it!

Be blessed.

“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” Genesis 50:20 (NKJV)

Loving Father, I praise You today. I thank You that You are taking what the enemy meant for my bad and turning it around for my good (Romans 8:28). You get all the glory, honor and praise. In Jesus Name, I pray, Amen
