Default Focus

FOCUS

To focus means to direct our attention or our effort to something or someone specific. When we are focused, we have directed attention. We have concentration. We have will power and strength to remain centered on what we are doing. The ability to focus takes practice. With so many distractions today, we lose focus often. However, when we choose to focus on God throughout the day, He will help us in all things. When we make God our center, our purpose for being and our focal point in life, everything else in the world will not seem as important as serving, worshiping, trusting and obeying Him.

1 Timothy 4:13 “Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we come to You today to thank You for all You do. You help us in so many ways yet we tend to lose focus on You. You guide us and direct us and love us yet we tend to look away from You and follow the things of the world. Show us what steps we need to take to better focus on You. Help us to stay close to You, focus on You and study Your word today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God wants us to focus and meditate on His word so we can better know Him.

Our focus should be on doing God’s will every day – all day long.

We can prepare for hard times when we spend time focusing on God every day.

If we are willing to focus completely on God, He is willing to guide us through each day.

We should pray for us and others to have the wholehearted desire to focus on and be obedient to God.

1 Chronicles 29:19 “Give my son Solomon the wholehearted desire to obey all your commands, laws, and decrees, and to do everything necessary to build this Temple, for which I have made these preparations.” (NLT)

Focus today: Read God’s word and decide to focus on that word all day long.

We stay sober and clean together - one day at a time!
God says that each of us is worth loving.
