The Little Black Bug
Quote:
This was the first poem I wrote in recovery thirteen years ago. It is so negative, and portrays a perfect picture of my attitude back then. Always expecting the worst, full of doom and gloom. If you live in the negative, you draw it to you. I am so grateful that I don't have to go there anymore. I have heard several people say, "If you look at the worst scenario, then whatever happens, you will be prepared and then you can be grateful that it wasn't as bad as you expected it to be! Sorry, this is putting the cart before the horse for me. I am what I feed my soul, and if I feed myself negative, then that is what I will get in return. No Thanks! That isn't recovery to me, that is living and acting out old behaviors and patterns. Posted on my site Soundness of Mind in 2005 I had 13 years then, and here I am creeping up on 22. So grateful for each day.
