W is for Wake. Every morning when you wake up, ask your God for help through the day. Ask for His Good Orderly Direction and guidance as you walk through this day. Remember go give thanks at night. It is a good way to end your day and give you hope for another tomorrow.

W is for Willing. unless you find a measure of willingness, you will not be able to stay clean and sober. Some people tend to separate these, but I have found that one will lead to another. i made up my mind to quit drinking. i didn't know about AA. i tried it my wasy by substituting pills. in the end, I was using both. I found that I could identify with alcoholics in the rooms of recovery when I thought of the times I was using pills. pills were dried up alcohol for me, so I had to let go of all narcotic and mind altering substances. Food was another issue.

What a mind game we can play with ourselves.

W is for Wonderful. Have a wonderful day. our day is what we make of it. As a long-timrr said many years ago, I don't have bad days any more, I just have bad moments in a day. We have this wonderful program which gives us the tools to deal with life on life's terms.

W is for World. What a wonderful world it would be if everyone made their space, the best space it could be. Each one cleaning their side of the street, with no care of what the other person around them is doing. Yet when we are in the now, and enjoying the present, I can imagine a beautiful harmony and a peaceful world. Well we can wish, but wishing without doing our part, won't get us far.

W is for Watch for Worse. Watch too for depression. Alcohol is a depressant. If you think it will make you feel worse. It will only add to your depression and dig those deep dark secrets down farther instead of bringing them up.

W is for Wait. Wait! Don't get in a relationship in the first year of your recovery. Build a relationship with your God, yourself, and your sponsor. how can we know what we want if we don't know ourselves and what our needs truly are. Fear: False evidence appearing real. We need to change it to "Face everything and recover."

W is for West, East, North and South. no matter what direction you go, your God goes with you. Sometimes we think he isn't with us, but we can ensure His/Her/It presence there if you invite Him to go with you and direct your path.

Take watermelon because I am on a diet. i feel like a walrus and need some exercise.
Take some water from the well, spiritual and physical.
Watch were you are driving the wagon and I will wave my magic wand and we will be there in no time.

W is for Witness. We need to bear witness of our God, of the program by walking your talk. Do others look at you and see recovery.

W is for wait. Wait on your Higher Power, He/She/It will see you through. Don't try to make things happen by exercising your will upon the situation.

W is for Welcome. We invite all to come to the site and read. It would be nice, if some entered and shared their journey with us. You are welcome any way. Don't be shy.

W is for Wisdom. The Wisdom to know the difference between what we can change and what we can't.

When we are young we want to look older. When we are old, we try to shave off some of the years we have accumulated.
