Default Hiding Anger

HIDING ANGER

Many times when we attempt to control our anger, we hide it. We keep it to ourselves. We get steamed up and let it simmer inside. Well, we all know what a closed pot does when it gets to a boiling point. It blows. And things get messy. When we hide our anger it will consume us. We may vent to others so they can get angry with us. We may think about what happened over and over again. However, it never does any good to hide our anger. The best thing to do is talk it out and let it go. Let God handle the situation.

Ephesians 4:26-27 “And ‘don’t sin by letting anger control you.’ Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,” (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us to stay away from hiding our anger. Help us to remember to pray about what we are upset about and allow You to work through us so we can let it go. Help us to communicate to those who anger us so we better understand what the situation is and why they do what they do. Help us to know to work things out rather than allowing anger to control us. Please help us to resist the temptation to get angry and to show love and obey You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we attempt to control our anger we need to be sure we aren’t keeping it all inside. That just makes things worse.

Rather than bottling up all our anger that will make us blow up one day, we should pray about the situation and ask God what to do.

When we allow God’s love into our hearts, He will always be there to help us know how to best control our anger.

Just as letting out too much anger is wrong, hiding it is just as bad.

When we allow anger to control us, we are giving in to the temptations of the devil.

Ephesians 4:27 “for anger gives a foothold to the devil.” (NLT)

Focus: Showing our anger only shows others we are out of control. Hiding it only keeps it in and allows it to grow.
