Default God will never leave or abandon us

Your Daily Inspiration

My favorite promise from God is that He will never leave me or forsake me. To me, just knowing that He will always be with me no matter what, good or bad, is one of life’s sweetest gifts; and it is one that I cherish greatly.

As I continue reading and studying His Word, I have come to realize that this promise of always being with me is itched in every beautiful word and it encourages me when I am going through it. I rejoice because there is such certainty in His promise to me. So much so that I know that no matter what may happen to me in life God is continuously with me and so I am always secure.

So many times I think that we believe that God is only with us in the good times when everything is going our way, but when troubles and trials come, we feel as if He has deserted us and we are left on our own to deal with it by ourselves. The enemy wants us to believe that lie so that we start to feel powerless and alone during those times, but let me share that that is simply not true.

Friends, God’s promise is that He will never leave us no matter what. It doesn’t matter if we are in the valley, the desert, have enemies chasing us down or even on the mountaintop, we can be sure that God is there in the thick of it with us. He is holding our hand. He is guiding us through. Take comfort in that because it is true.

This promise is so power-packed that it is one that the enemy does not want us to get. Because if we truly get the fact that God will never leave or abandon us, we will never feel defeated in the face of trials and tribulations. We will know that even though the going may get rough, we can keep going because God is with us and He will never leave us to fend or fight for ourselves.

I get so emotional when I meditate on this promise because when I look back on all that I have been through in life I have come to the realization that God has always been in my corner. He has always been on my side. When life knocked me down and left me battered and broken, God was there to lift me back me up. The enemy thought he had me, but God said, “NO, I am with you and will never leave you.”

I tell you, friends, there is nothing sweeter than knowing that no matter what God is with you. He hasn’t left you or abandoned you. I know that sometimes life’s situation may make us feel that way, but let me encourage you with His Word, His promise to you. God will never or has ever forgotten about you, left you or abandoned you. You are never alone because He is with you every step of the way. So the next time the enemy starts to tell you that you are defeated and alone, just speak this promise back to him and watch him flee, because God’s Word is true.

Never will He leave you. Never will He abandon you. That is His solemn promise to you.

-Nina Fortson

“… for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]” Hebrews (13:5 AMP)

Father, how grateful I am that I know and trust that no matter what You are with me. I rejoice in the freedom that knowledge has brought me. I love You so much and am so thankful for this beautiful promise of Yours to me. I rest in it and claim it. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen
