Default Loving the View

God's Word For Today

Loving the View

Read Genesis 1:1 through 2:25; Matthew 1:1–25

Jonathan and his son, Michael, walked together along the shore. They were happy. Waves made sounds with regular rhythm. The splashing water kept Michael stepping away from the water, then back toward the water. It was almost night, but the view was amazing.

Sandy, Jonathan’s wife and Michael’s mother, probably had the best view. Instead of walking on the sand with them, she stood in the hotel room and watched from the window. She remembered when she had been told they would never have children. She loved the view of a walking miracle.

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day (Genesis 1:31).

Though Sandy’s view kept her in awe, think of God’s view of all His creation. God was gazing at the world. He looked and considered it all very good.

This New Year’s Day try to look at the world through the eyes of the Lord. Stand in awe of the new beginning that is before you.

Prayer Suggestion: Take time to pray and notice the beauty of creation all around you.

Quicklook: Genesis 1:24–2:3
