Commissioned
Commissioned Read Numbers 26:1 through 27:23 As long as she could remember, Lisa had felt a deep urge to make a difference. Lisa’s relatives tell stories about her childhood—being friends with the lonely, hoping to solve problems, searching for whatever was lost. One night, though, Lisa sensed that internal longing was offering specific instructions—like God himself was directing her to make a decision. She responded. After twenty-seven years of faithful service on the mission field, Lisa is glad she obeyed. Then he laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as the Lord instructed through Moses (Numbers 27:23). Throughout the Bible and history, God has guided many people as He did Lisa. In Numbers, God revealed Joshua as the leader to succeed Moses. Yes, it felt like an impossible responsibility from a human perspective. But that is how God works. He commissions ordinary people to be world changers. What is God calling you to do? Thought for Today: Where would you be today if someone hadn’t obeyed God and told you about His Son?

Always knew Him, sang Jesus Loves Me with my sisters, taught Sunday School, dedicated my life at 18, and then when I met my ex-husband, he became the god of my life. His sins in my eyes, were projected onto the men who followed in my life, and then before I found recovery, I had pushed everyone away, had no one around me to blame, so had to look at me. When I found recovery, I had to rethink my concept of God and make Him personal.
It is one thing to know, it is another to follow what you know and apply it to your life.
