We learn when new to recovery that the problem we all have is in our thinking, which ultimately controls the actions we take, if we want recovery the way that we respond to the way we think, has to be changed. We begin doing this by first admitting, what we've been doing, and how we've been responding isn't working. We all pretty much think in the same way, and while there doesn't seem to be a way that any of us can stop that, we have found that we can choose to change how we respond to our thinking. If we aren't willing to do this then we aren't ready for recovery, because the rest of the program of recovery is how to replace what hasn't been working with what does, and trusting by doing that we'll be better off, then doing what we've been doing. If we can do this, recovery will happen for us, and when it does we'll than see how recovery can give to us what all of us have been failing to give to ourselves, and that's a new way of thinking.
