All the goodness that comes from being in recovery comes only after how bad it had to be for all of us first. Our need for recovery is born out of the moment we realized what we thought we'd always be able to do, we can't do. It is then things go from really bad to impossible for all of us. None of us could have ever imagined how this happens to us in the way that it does. This is the turning point. We either go on from here with things getting way worse than we ever thought possible, or for things to get far better than we ever believed they could be for us. The choice for this is made when we decide if we're going to join recovery or not. One thing that helps when we're making that decision is to know that if we choose to walk out the door of recovery that there is nothing else out there that will ever be able to give us all that recovery has to offer to us, the choice is yours.
