After a while recovery becomes more of a way of life for us. It's way more than just something we can use to get us out of the jam we're in. That's when it starts to change in ways that are unimaginable for us, and without our control. This is about the time we begin to be humbled by all that the program of recovery has to offer to us. It's more than just a way to stop. Not only will the certain tragedies be avoided that were on the horizon for most of us when we begin our recovery, but things will start happening now that are a bit overwhelming on how good things can be for us now because we're living a life based in recovery. Then we form a sense of gratitude for our lives now, followed up with our desire to be helpful where we can. This will allow us to continue our recovery forever.
