Default The Cycle

And so it goes, life goes on with or without us. Having lived a life of not being able to live in the here and now is one of the greatest losses we'll ever experience. The illness of addiction robs us of that, which is all we really have. We don't realize that this has happened until there's nothing we can do about it. The days, weeks, months and years just roll on by meaning nothing. We can see the things happening in our life, but have no real connection to any of it. Recovery gives us back the here and now. It's one of the first lessons we learn, how to live one day at a time, and from here we are able to begin to learn how to reconnect with the cycle of life that we are all part of. This is not the dress rehearsal for our life, we only pass this way once.
