Stay in the Yard
Read Psalms 19:1 through 26:12 Tasha was a little dog with a big problem. He had a great backyard with a strong fence but he was not content. Tasha managed to find the a little gap in the corner behind the shed to sneak out at every opportunity. Tasha wandered into the street and could have easily been hit by a car. Twice he strayed so far from home that he got lost, and his owner had to rescue him. If the dogcatcher had found him, he would have spent time in the pound. Like Tasha’s backyard fence was there to protect him, God’s Word, the Bible, provides fences designed for our protection. When we wander beyond the boundaries God established, our lives are diminished and fall short of what God desires for us. May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, Lord, is in you (Psalm 25:21). In the armor of God from Ephesians 6:14, we find that the protective breastplate is righteousness. Honesty, purity and total reliance on God will keep us within the protected area God has provided for us. Challenge for Today: Trust God and stay within the boundaries He has established for His people. Quicklook: Psalm 20:18–22 God's Word For Today

Most of my life was spent breaking, bending, ignoring, and stepping over boundaries. It is hard for me to set them in today, many times I have to reinforce them when it comes to my son. He says I don't understand because he uses many substances and did many things I didn't do. He forgets or chooses to ignore the fact that it is thinking behind his addiction that is the challenge.
For so many years I played the blame game, especially if you put up what I saw as a barrier to what I wanted to do. As I have shared before, "If you are going to pray for me, do it quietly so I don't hear you." As they say, "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence." I didn't want to stay in my own space. I didn't like being with me, and I was always wanting 'more' to take me out of myself so I didn't have to look at me or be alone with me. I couldn't be at peace with me, because I didn't invite my God into my personal space.
