Default Seeing your trials the right way

Seeing your trials the right way
"Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial."
James 1:12 NASB

Sitting at an exam desk with a pencil case rammed with spare pens, your 'lucky' mascot and the dreaded exam paper is probably not high on your list of good times. Not many of us like tests but they are an important part of life. Whether it's a football trial, a driving test, an exam or some kind of competition, remember how good it felt when you found out that you'd made it, you'd passed!
The Bible talks about trials and tests, not the kind that will get you the use of your dad's car, but some of the tough stuff that life throws at us. Illness, rejection, disappointment, betrayal, violence are just a few of the trials that Christians, like everyone else in the world, will face. These kinds of difficulties and hardships can feel like they are crushing us and leave us wanting to give up on our relationship with God. Check out what the book of James says: 'Anyone who meets a testing challenge head-on and manages to stick it out is mighty fortunate. For such persons loyally in love with God, the reward is life and more life' (James 1:12 MSG). Passing your school exams or tests opens up new opportunities in life, if you stick at it through life's hardships God opens up what the Bible calls 'Abundant Life'; and that's very cool.

We stay sober and clean together - one day at a time!
