A Searched Heart

When we do wrong, we somehow believe that we can hide it from God, who knows and sees everything. We carry around the burden of guilt and shame until it weighs us down with despair and depression.

God knows our hearts. We cannot hide anything from Him. When we sin, He does not want us to be burdened down with condemnation. He wants us to come to Him, let Him search our hearts and bring us forgiveness and cleansing. Submit to His search today, and let Him set you free.

Moment of Meditation: Man will strip your soul of dignity; God's search will set you free.

A Talk with Jesus: Search my heart, O God, reveal to me the secret motives and set me free to do Your will. Amen.

The title give me pause for thought. Words that came to me, were "Do you search your heart to find out where you are coming from." Are you coming from a place of love, self-serving, and what is your motive and intent?

Do you find your God there? If not where did you misplace Him/Her? Did you not like His last answer, and turned a deaf ear, a blind eye, a tight lip, and shut Him off because He/She didn't give you want you wanted. Are you having a pity-party, sucking your thumb, stamping your feet, heaving big sighs so others can hear you, hiding under the blanket of denial, and/or wishing your life away, not living in reality, and not willing to face yourself, in case something pops up and says, "Boooo to you."

As the reading says, "God knows our hearts." That is why we are asked to get honest with ourselves, with our God, and with others.
