We don't want to ever keep anyone from being able to join recovery, all are welcomed. At first we may be taken back by this and are reluctant to join recovery because of knowing this. What we all need to know is that we all are so much alike, and we're no better off than anyone else, even though many of us would like to think we are. When we become uncomfortable being around someone who seems to be worse off than us, it's an indication that we really don't know ourselves yet. Recovery is all about us finding out who we are, and when we're all new to recovery it's best to simply know that we're a lot like everyone else. We all could have ended up just like those that we are uncomfortable with, and that's why we are, because somehow we all know this to be true. The way recovery works for all of us, is we try to help each other. It doesn't matter where any of us have been, or what we have done. What really matters the most now is that we're all here in recovery trying to help each other the best we can, and when all of us are able to do this is when everyone is helped, including ourselves.
