The Peace of God

Thus sayeth The Lord, "My Peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give you. Do not let your heart be troubled, or be afraid."
The men of the world spend their lives searching for inner peace and they cannot find it.
They buy cabins in the mountains, seashores or other places of solace, yet peace flees from them. They take drugs and tranquilizers attempting to achieve inner peace, yet peace flees from them.
Inner Peace is a treasure of great value.
The people of the world spend fortunes trying to attain it, yet it flees from them. It is a gift from God, a fruit of His Spirit, a light that overcomes the darkness of anxiety.
Come into God's presence and His Peace shall over shadow you.

I know that any peace I receive comes from the Lord. Occasionally though I get caught up in worry about something or someone get anxious and temporarily lose my peace. When I turn back to prayer God renews my spirit and I find that peace again.
