Default Resentment

RESENTMENT

So many times in life we feel we are mistreated. We feel like others aren’t being fair. We feel put out, left out and overlooked. All these feelings can cause resentment in our lives. When we are resentful, we are putting ourselves first in life. When we are resentful, we are filling our minds with negative thoughts. When we are resentful, we are thinking wrong thoughts about others instead of showing love. Rather than being resentful today, let’s forgive those who we feel treat us wrong and show them kindness rather than resent.

Ephesians 4:32 “Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know we sometimes think we deserve more than what we have. We sometimes get focused too much on ourselves rather than You. Help us not to resent others for treating us wrong. Help us to get past the feelings of being treated unfairly. We know You are all we need. We know You are fair and right and just. We know You will always treat us fairly and we should focus on You and forgive those who treat us wrong. Show us Your way today, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we feel resentment toward those who have done wrong to us, we need to pray.

God is able to help us treat others fairly despite how they have treated us.

When we feel mistreated, we need to turn to God. He loves us and will always treat us right.

Rather than showing resentment, we should show kindness, love and forgiveness.

God treats everyone fairly and does not show favoritism.

Romans 2:11 “For God does not show favoritism.” (NLT)

Focus: Forgive those who have done wrong to us and let it go. Life is too short to hold resentment.

We stay sober and clean together - one day at a time!
