Default Maintain a Steady Pace

Maintain a Steady Pace.

Slow down, for whatever you really want will be there when you get there, if you work toward it without stress. If proceeding under God's guidance and in His smooth and unhurried tempo, it is not there, then it was not supposed to be there. To do this, stop at intervals and affirm, "I now relinquish nervous excitement—it is flowing from me. I am at peace."

No. 13 in a series of 100 Power Thoughts from The Power of Positive Thinking, the All-Time inspirational Best-Selling Book by Norman Vincent Peale.

This reminds me of Step Two, all the world is a stage and we are only players. There is a reason for everything. The time might not be right in the moment, because all the other people haven't gotten to their destination. Recovery is a WE program and what is good for the whole.

My God sees the whole picture, while I can become impatient and intolerant because things aren't happening in my time. My limited vision, my selective hearing and sight will only see what I want it to see, if it isn't done MY way. Thanks God for recovery and I don't have to live that way in today.

When I find myself heading to or in that space, I can turn to my Higher Power, He is only a prayer away.
