Topic of the Week, Words that begin with the letter "I"
I is for Integrity. Walk your talk! When people look at you, do they see recovery?

I is for Intent. What is your motive and intent? It is it for the good of the whole? Is it for your Higher Good?

I is for Isolating....In recovery avoid Isolating. You are never alone. Go to AA meetings. Reach out, you have sober friends who care.

I is for Isolation. It is part of my disease, not a part of recovery. When I isolate the body, mind, and spirit, I am not getting the food I need to build up that wall of defense against that first drink or drug.
Thanks for the thought Dave.

I is for Inch. Sometimes when you give a person an inch and they take a mile. Set up some boundaries and if need be, detach and protect your space.

I is for Inventory. Step 10 is a living Step to use to maintain your recovery. Step 4 is a freedom step as well as an inventory as to what is, and what needs to change. How can I change if I don't know what is there. Drug and alcohol helped me to bury some things really deep, and so much of it was long forgotten. As the saying goes, "I had to bring them out of the darkness into the light to see what was hidden within."
