Default Peace

PEACE

We all want peace. At least, we say we do. But what are we doing about it? Of course, we can’t force others to be peaceful and stop fighting and bickering; but we can control how we respond to others. We can control what we put into our minds and hearts so we have a peaceful life. Even in the midst of turmoil, we can have peace. We can have peace in our hearts and in our lives when we stop focusing on this world and start focusing on Jesus.

SCRIPTURE: John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write how you create peace in your life.
2. List the ways you work on your relationship with Christ.
3. Know God wants peace for you.
4. Seek God and His word and pray for peace.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we pray for peace. We know we can’t control this world or the people who enjoy stirring things up in this world. However, we know we can have peace in our lives. You tell us this. You can give us the peace we need to deal with the things in this world. Help us to remember to be thankful for You and all You have done. Help us to stop worrying and start praying. We want a right relationship with You and to feel the peace You have for us. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

REMEMBER: If we want real peace in our lives, we need to always be thankful.

Colossians 3:15 “And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.” (NLT)

If we want to experience peace, we need to stop worrying and start praying.

Philippians 4:6-7 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (NLT)

Jesus wants us to have peace and rest in this life. We can do that with a right relationship with Him.

FOCUS: John 20:21 “Again he said, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.’” (NLT)
