Not Alone
NOT ALONE
MEMORY VERSE: Fear thou not: for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness (Isaiah 41:10). God anticipates our needs before we experience them. Knowing there would be times we would feel alone, He said, I am with thee. Understanding that sometimes we would not understand, He counseled assuringly, Be not dismayed. Having compassion upon us in our fainting spells, He announced, I will strengthen thee. Foreseeing times that our human strength would fall short of our needs, He promised, I will help thee. Life teaches us of the weakness of man...our own weakness. There are problems too complicated for us to solve, burdens too heavy for us to bear, work too difficult for us to do. But God is able. Everything is within His power. And He wants to trade His strength for our weakness, His fellowship for our loneliness, His wisdom for our lack of understanding. His method of meeting our needs is not the introduction of some "How To" program. Instead, it is the promise that He will be with us, directing us in His perfect will. Are you at the end of yourself? Have you arrived at "wits end corner"? Is the race too long, the battle too fierce, or the struggle too great? Are you afraid? Fear not. He will be with you and will compensate your weakness with His strength, your disability with His ability. He will not fail! --Daily Devotion
