Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent
Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent
Verse of the day: "Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue" 17:28 It is so difficult to keep silent when it comes to defending ourselves- right? Wrong! Normally we talk defending ourselves to prove our point and that we are reasonable. But interestingly the Scripture says the opposite. We will be considered wise if we keep silent. When someone doesn't talk much it is difficult to find out what really goes on in their mind and they have time to contemplate their thoughts and rephrase it if needed. How nice?! On the other hand if we are quick to say something it is hard to undo the damage. I am so glad to find such practical wisdom stressed in the Scriptures. Let us pray for a discerning tongue. Definitely this is one area I am truly trying to improve. Happy Tuesday! Coffee with Jesus

Well seeing as I was born on April Fool's Day, I guess I still have a lesson to learn.
I use to say my ex-husband use to take his foot out of his mouth to put the other one in. Of course, I opened my mouth to tell him so. My mouth was a big weapon, and in today, I try to use my mouth as a tool to help put people back together again, instead of a weapon of destruction. It was nothing for me to go up one side and down the other and tear strips off and forget to put people back together again. I will never live long enough to make amends to the people who I hurt over the years, in the name of what I thought was my right, my job, my duty, and by the authority invested in me. I was in jobs that were very people orientated and dealing with the public (domestic and export). I did a lot of volunteering and was Sport Officer and put on tournaments for 13 branches of the Legion. It ironic part is that for the most part, I am silent compared to what I use to be! This is quiet.
