For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

To be ever vigilant. Know that we are vulnerable, and it is important to open ourselves up to take risks and stretch our boundaries, but we need not set ourselves up for failure and hurts we experiences of our past, we are not alone and we don't have to go through those same experiences the same way again.
