Patience
Patience
I have the gift of patience within me. A harvest must first begin with preparation—sometimes months ahead of time. Week after week, the crop is tended to, even though on the earth’s surface nothing appears to be happening. A farmer trusts the process occurring out of sight, diligently working in faith. Eventually, the crops begin to grow and produce fruit. I, too, practice patience as I sow seeds in my own life. At times I may think that I am putting in effort without receiving the fruits of my labor. I may experience feelings of anger or sadness. But when I turn to my faith in God, I remember that I have the gift of patience. I trust in divine order even when I can’t see it. I have faith that all things happen in divine time and order, and I am able to practice patience. But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.—Romans 8:25 Daily Word |
