Y is for Yet. I haven`t done that yet! Well if I continue to drink and drug, act out in my dis-ease and substitute one drug for another, some day, that yet will happen. I haven`t picked up a drink in 24 years, because I live my life one day at a time, and I have yet to find a good reason to pick up. I found a lot of excuses along the way, but there is no way that I want to go back to where I came from. Using is not an option. For me to use is to die.

Y is for Yesterday
Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

Y is for Yes. Say "Yes" to sobriety and "No" to drugs. The drugs are but a symptom of our disease. If you are like me, you will find that the problem started with me and my perception. For too many years, I said "Yes" when I wanted to say "No" and was fearful of rocking the boat and making waves in my dYsfunctional family.

Y is for Yield. Yield not to temptation. Yield to the suggestions of the people in the rooms of recovery. The program is but a suggestions, but there are some darn well betters or YOU will go back out and find yourself wondering how you got there. It is a spirituaol program and you need a spiritual defense against that first drink and/or drug. Alcohol is a drug.

Y is for You. Without you, there is no me. I can't do this program alone. They say if we don't give it away what we have learned on our journey, we lose our sobriety. Thank you for being a part of my sobriety.
