Let go or be dragged......
WOW! That's pretty powerful and says it all!
Until we learn to let go of trying to control and figure out the alcoholics/addicts in our lives, we are dragged into their chaos.
Love the saying! Was just thinking about the same thing after reading my meditation book. I remeber my mother saying to me as a child, "Look what you made me do!" I didn't know I didn't have the power and as a result I had a false sense of responsibility for years and carried the same believe into my own life and projected that same attitude onto others.
I had to look at why I was looking at them instead of looking at me!
It was easier to blame them or project my stuff onto them. I was fearful of not taking their stuff on, because they might not like me any more. It was often my own insecurities and my own codependency that was the problem and I lived my life through other people, especially the needy ones.
