LIVING IN TRUTH

We all have things in our lives we wish we could change. We make choices we are not happy about. We have regrets and have suffered due to some wrong choices. Struggling and suffering is part of life. Even Christ suffered. However, we can change how we suffer when we decide to make better choices. When we decide to give up bad habits, we can stop suffering due to our own wrong decisions. We can move away from our self-inflicted suffering as we focus more and more on God’s truth. When we live in truth and love, we can know God’s grace, mercy and peace.

2 John 1:3 “Grace, mercy, and peace, which come from God the Father and from Jesus Christ—the Son of the Father—will continue to be with us who live in truth and love.” (NLT)

2 John 1:3 “Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.” (KJV)

Dear Lord, we want to live in Your truth and love. We want to make right decisions that are bringing glory to Your name rather than make wrong choices that cause regret and suffering. Forgive us, Lord, for what we have done wrong. Show us how to resist temptation and live for You. We are so grateful for Your mercy, Your grace and Your peace. Help us to focus on You and all the blessings You have given us. Help us to live as You have called us to live – in truth and love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we choose to live in God’s truth, our suffering will not be self-inflicted because we are doing His will.

We can grow to be more like Christ when we speak the truth in love.

Ephesians 4:15 “Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.” (NLT)

Living in God’s truth will help us to know what to do and what to say that will help us and encourage others.

There will be suffering in this world despite what we do; however, we shouldn’t purposefully do things to cause more suffering.

“But if we are to share His glory, we must also share His suffering. Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will give us later.” Rom. 8:17b- 18 (NLT)

Focus: Our choices may lead to suffering if we aren’t focused on God’s truth and love.
