God's Word For Today
Spirit Power
Read Ezekiel 1:1 through 4:17
“Son of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak to you.” As he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet, and I heard him speaking to me (Ezekiel 2:1–2).
The prophet Ezekiel was called by God to proclaim His message to a stubborn and rebellious people capable of doing him harm. However, God knew this work couldn’t be done without the power of the Spirit. Ezekiel, in total obedience, chose to answer the call of God, and was then empowered by His Spirit.
When God calls us, He will equip us by His Spirit. Ezekiel took time to stand before the Lord and listen to what He was saying, and so should we. God wants to speak to us and fill us with His Spirit. God wants us to hear His message so we may become His messengers. God is calling us to stand up, stand firm, stand out, and be filled with His Spirit so we may fulfill the work He has called us to do. May God’s Spirit ignite our calling so His glory may be revealed in us.
Challenge for Today: Spend time in prayer and seek to be used by God.
