WE AREN’T GOOD ENOUGH
One reason we decide not to do God’s will and endure until we are done is we feel we are not good enough. We feel our lives are not right and God wouldn’t want us to do anything because we are sinners. We think we are too bad to do good. We feel incompetent or inadequate. We feel we have messed up our lives too much to follow through with something God wants us to do. But the beauty of enduring through and doing God’s will is that He will do His work through us. He knows we all have sinned and we aren’t perfect but He calls us to action anyway.
Romans 3:23-24 “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, thank You that You still want to use us despite our past and our sins. Thank You for creating us for a purpose and that we don’t have to wait for things to be perfect before we take action. We know we just have to step out in faith and let You do the rest. Thank You, Lord, for being with us in that step of faith and helping us to follow through despite our past and our sins. Thank You for calling us to action and give us the strength to endure and complete the plans You have for us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
When we feel we aren’t good enough to do God’s will, we need to focus on Him rather than us.
Nothing is too big or too small when we are doing it for God.
God is way bigger than the excuses and problems we have that keep us from doing His will.
All we need is grace to do God’s will. 2 Corinthians 12:9b “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.”
God doesn’t want us to do anything but be willing to follow Him. He will equip us with what we need when take that first step.
Hebrews 13:21 “may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.” (NLT)
Focus: We will never be perfect so there won’t ever be a perfect time to do God’s will. That’s why we need to do it all the time.
