We All Come Together

We all come together
With one common goal
To carry the message
God let us hold
When your stumbling drunk
With no where to turn
Comes to our program
Twelve steps learn
When all worn out
From your wild ways
We'll share our hope
Help you to find
Sober days
The ultimate goal
Is to pass
It on
We
Do our best
Before they're gone
Helping others
To get along
First we surrender to win
Then we clean house
Make amends
Where we can
Go to meetings
And then
Go again
This was is simple
But really hard
For we do the battle
In our own yard
When you look in the mirror
Who do you see
Your own worst enemy
Looking back at thee
Now don't be frightened
You're not alone
When you walked
Through our doors
You have a new home
Get a sponsor
Pray extra hard
I'll always remember
How soon I forgot
I thought I was different
But I was not
Real soon
After
That
I drank again
Real fast I remembered
Why I first came in
God saw fit
To give me
Another
Try
I
Had
To get
Honest
And
Not deny
Together we can
Have victory

Without you, there is no me. You show me what to do, what not to do, do my research for me, mirror my inner soul, and when you share, you remind me that I am no longer alone.

Just sending a hug your way. Always good to reread something old that becomes new again in today.

K.I.S.S., Keep It Simple, Sweetheart. Sounds much better than the original, Keep It Simple, Stupid. We had enough derogatory talk prior to recovery, we don't need to put ourselves down in today.

A sense of humor is a good thing, especially when you can laugh at yourself.

In today, I can laugh with someone instead of at someone like I did before program. My disease would raise it's ugly head, especially when I was hurting or felt less than. Thank God for this program. It told me that for every finger I pointed at someone, I had three coming back at me. It is a program of reflection.

An old online friend spelled God as G-d. I love it, because to me it means, "Fill in the blanks." It is my understanding of God and it is personal. It doesn't matter whether it is a religious God or a recovery G.O.D. Group of Drunks and Drug Addicts showing me a new way to live. Both work for me, because my recovery came from the people in the rooms of recovery. My God got me there. He lead me there. He gave me the courage and strength to stay there, and continue to walk with Him/Her one day at a time. As the saying goes, "Who ever heard of a Him asking for direction." I need that Good Orderly Direction every day.

You spend more time with yourself than with anyone else. Doesn't it make sense to put something into that relationship?

I am my own best friend and value my own companionship.

It is important to get to know myself. I lived my life through others for so many years. I had to find myself so I could look at what needed changing and to look at what needed nurturing.

If no one has told you today, I love you. Learn to love yourself. Give yourself a hug!

I found myself reflected in the people in the rooms of recovery. As they say, "It takes one to know one." I took a little from one person, a lot from another, none from that one thank you very much for showing me how not to work my program.

Be kind to yourself. Go to a meeting! Get to know yourself through the fellowship of the spirit.

Self Love is most important to see ourselves of worth. It makes all the difference in the world. :169:
