All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
When I was in school growing up, I absolutely hated pop quizzes. The reason for this is that you were never quite ready for them. The reading was assigned, and if you fell behind the least bit, you were going to fail the quiz.
But what I really loved in school, in contrast to the pop quiz, was the open-book test. No matter how far behind you’d fall in the reading, the open-book tests were your redemption. That’s because whatever questions were on the test, you knew the answer was right there in the book. It was really impossible to fail!
When the tests of life hit, many people treat them like a pop quiz. They kind of squirm and weasel out whatever answer sounds best to them at the moment, and hope they get a passing grade. But in the Christian life, every test is open book. God gives us tests of our faith, but has given us His Word, a book we can open any time to search for the answers!
Life’s tests don’t have to be pop quizzes. So instead of getting caught on your heels when challenges arise, go straight to God’s Word and you’ll pass every test that comes your way!
