We share and care together. We go to meetings, we get a sponsor, we get phone numbers and meet with other members. A strong support group is imperative for recovery. Isolation is part of our dis-ease, it is not a recovery tool.

For me the butterfly meant freedom. Freedom from active addiction. Every time there was a major change in my life in recovery, I was given a butterfly in many shapes and sizes or I saw a real one. According to many it means transformation. My AA sponsor told me I was in a cocoon and emerged a beautiful butterfly.

Reach out and share. We may not be willing to accept what is offered, but we need to be willing to receive, and acceptance can follow, or we can pass it on to someone who needs it.

I found verses on serving but not of being of service. I found a verse on Giving Up not on giving. They seem to be words to help you when you are there, nothing about keeping you from getting there in the first place.

At the end of our meeting at the Women's Discussion Meeting, we joined in a circle, said the AA promises, gave out hope stones, different coloured pieces of glass, AA chips, and we closed the meeting with the Serenity Prayer. The Power of that circle I couldn't find in any other meeting in the city. The Hope Stones were not just for anyone who was new, just for anyone going through a rough patch or having a bad day.

Love this today, a good way to identify ego. It was because of this we took the inventory, which is not always good of the last speaker we heard at the Roundup. He had a good message to carry, but we knew he was young in sobriety because of all the "I"s in his story.
