Just For Today Day 12 Putting Off by SGLY Ministry
Just for Today I will put off all…MALICE
Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 1 Peter 2:1-2 [NKJV]
Today’s Thought:
Malice is not a word that is often heard today. It means feelings of ill will, spite, or revenge
The New Testament has several scriptures which tell believers they should lay aside or put off malice.
“Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature. ” 1 Corinthians 14:20 (NKJV)
“But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.” Colossians 3:8 (NKJV)
“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.” Ephesians 4:31 (NKJV)
As believers, let’s pray that the Holy Spirit who lives within us will give us the strength we need to put off all malice in our lives as we seek to become more and more like Christ in all we say and do.
Just for Today let’s get up and go out “..with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord..”. Ephesians 6:7-8 (NKJV)
Today’s Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Just for Today, with Your help, I will put off any Malice I may have in my life. I will not desire harm for anyone.
Just for Today I will only seek to love people as You do.
Just for Today I will be kind and tender hearted to others even if they don’t treat me the same.
Just for Today I will not harbor animosity towards anyone, but, I will seek to forgive as You forgive and show goodwill to all.
Thank You Lord for Your Holy Spirit who is within me to help me and give me strength to do this…Just for Today.
