Heart for the Lord – Day 1 by SGLY Ministry
For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 (NKJV)
BELIEVING HEART
“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness”
Romans 10:10 (NKJV)
Today’s Thought:
Righteousness means morally right or virtuous in other words—without sin.
The Ten Commandments show us it is impossible for us to ever achieve righteousness on our own, for no matter how hard we try we will all break one or more of God’s laws at some time or another.
In sin, we are out of favor with God for sin separates us from God, but belief in Jesus, who is righteous because He did fulfill the law by living a sinless life, restores that relationship with God.
“For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.”Romans 10:4 (NLT).
Jesus Christ came to fulfill the law and set us free. By believing in Jesus, and receiving Him into our life, we are saved from sin and made righteous in God’s eyes, for in Jesus, we receive the righteousness of Christ who was without sin. Jesus death justifies us before the Father and restores the relationship with Him that sin destroyed.
So a Believing Heart is to be most desired for it puts its faith and trust in Jesus and thereby receives His righteousness.
For “He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right.”1 Peter 2:24 (NLT).
Prayer of the Heart to the Lord:
Dear Heavenly Father, today I ask that You create in me a Believing Heart so I can receive the righteousness of Jesus, which means I can be justified and made right before You according to Your word.
I want a Believing Heart for it has faith in You.
I want a Believing Heart for it will trust in You.
I ask that You create in me a Believing Heart today Lord.
