Seek And Find

Matthew 7:7-8 NIV: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."

Your quest is near the end--or so it seems. You´ve prayed and sought the Lord for His will to be done above all. At times, your journey has been tiring, causing you to wonder if you had wandered or lost track of the path you have fought to stay on. No one ever said following Jesus would be easy, you know that, of course. And now that the answer seems so near, still you have difficulty knowing His way beyond a shadow of a doubt. Perhaps your search is over. It´s time to rest. It´s time to be still and make no more requests; do not ask, do not seek, do not knock. It is time to stand at the door and simply wait for the door to open. It is then you will know. It is at that moment that you will sense God´s presence and have a peace with the answer He has already chosen to reveal to you. You have trusted Him in seeking-now trust Him in the meanwhile as you wait.

Invite Jesus into every area of your life. Don't hide your faults from Him. He knows all about them anyway. Don't hold anything back; give God everything!

Prayer: Lord, I ask You to come into every area of my life. I confess all my sins to you and ask Your forgiveness. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness and make me whole. Amen.

This quote shows us how this program works for everyone. Jesus is quoted here, but it could read Creator, Higher Power, Supreme Being, Buddha, etc. into every area of your life.

Several years ago I met a woman who use to right G-d and I thought it just about covered everyone. People took offense when I wrote He/She/It, yet God for most people is an old tape. We need to make God personal. Who is God to you? He can be many things to all people?

When I came into recovery, I was very angry at the church, and I didn't even want to hear God's name. I had to find a spiritual solution.

Originally posted on my sites.

I read something that said, "You don't have to believe in God to find the Spirit within."

I thought this was very empowering. I thought I knew who God was, but as I worked this program I came to realize that God had been an old tape and I only knew God third hand. God was an old tape and I had to go on a spiritual journey to find out what God meant to me.

For me, God is, as he reveals Himself to me.

When you seek, you will find. Might not be what you want or expect, but know that God sees the whole picture, and all I have is my limited vision.
