FIX OUR THOUGHTS

If we were to really think about our thoughts, we would probably tell ourselves to change our thinking. Many of us have what Zig Ziglar called “stinking thinking.” That is thinking that does us or no one else any good. That is thinking that not only puts others down but puts us down as well. Our minds sometimes think things that should never be said. So why do we even think them? Let’s focus today on how we think so our thoughts are what God has called us to think. Then we will see a definite change in our minds, our hearts and our lives.

Philippians 4:8 “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us today to think about what we think. Help us to focus our thinking on what is true. Help us to focus our thinking on what is right, what will honor You and what is pure and lovely and admirable. Help us to focus on You and allow You to help us think as You want us to think so we can live as You want us to live. We know that wherever our thoughts lie, our hearts are there as well. Thank You, Lord, for the change You are going to make in our thinking today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Write down what thoughts you are having right now and ask God to help you change your thinking to be in line with His commands.

When we want to obey God, we have to change our thinking to what He has called us to think.

Thinking about things that are no good to us or others is just a wasted thought.

Our minds sometimes think things that should never be said. So why do we even think them?

We seem to think about what we care about the most. So what is it that we need to change in our thinking so we care more about others and God?

Matthew 6:21 “Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.” (NLT)

Focus today: Let’s focus today on how we think so our thoughts are what God has called us to think.

Like this, it is our thinking behind the addiction. I have to work on my emotional sobriety daily. I was sharing with my sister today about how my right hand is getting as bad as the tremon disorder in my left. She said she had a tremon in her right hand.

I told her that I had many doctors tell me that to get rid of it by taking a drink. So I have had to accept the tremon without going to the alcohol, yet I shocked myself today. I realized that I needed an attitude adjustment, because I said, if they both continue to shake, I would need a whole bottle. Always the thought that some is good, more is better. It doesn`t matter what the substance is, the thinking is what takes us back. It always takes us back to our drug of choice, or to something that is stronger if the old no longer works for you.
